The first book in a brand-new series that makes a person think, "Just how did dragons survive the flood?" Nothing is as simple as it seems...
Remember, this adds you to my email list.
"...loving it, can't put it down..."
Q: So, what prompted you to write How Dragons Survived the Flood?
A: Good question. First I have to acknowledge that I have always been a reader of books about dragons, and I found my inspiration from the Anne McCaffrey books and Naomi Novik books.
Having said that, I have to admit that my original story didn’t start with the flood mythology; it didn’t even start with dragons, although it had dragons in it. It started with the Loch Ness monster. I wanted to create a rich world around the Loch Ness monster and incorporate the Loch Ness monster into an alternative history similar to the Pern and Temeraire books. When working on that story, I had to do a lot of research to create the backstory. That backstory evolved into an even larger story. Because I hate serial prequels, I decided the origin story was the story to start with, and so here it is.
Q: What makes this series so special?
A: It is an episodic series that creates an alternative world history incorporating dragons and mythology to answer the basic question of how and why dragon mythology can be found worldwide. It also hints about the beginnings of the Loch Ness monster and its life cycle.
Q: What type of reader would enjoy this series?
A: Any reader of dragon lore, any lover of the Loch Ness monster would get a thrill out of this. People who are interested in alt history books would also enjoy it. Also, readers who are tired of sparkly vampires and 50 shades of… “whatever” would find this quite refreshing and interesting. The people who have read it have said things like: “…you’ve got it. It will be a shocker that explodes the market just like “Shades of Grey,” which made me laugh a bit. They also said, “Right now I’m addicted.”
But with all that said, this is not a book for children and does contain adult content and themes.
